Yes, our lawmakers really do make laws before they study the issues (notwithstanding allthoughtswork’s wonderful video clip above.)
And to support their votes, they use ad hominem attacks, appeals to authority, scare tactics, and other nonsense. Two great examples are
1. creation of the FED in 1913 to ensure sufficient money within the Economy (BTW, FED money printing has debased away 98% of the 1913 value of the Dollar), and
2. allowing the eco-terrorist EPA to approach shutdown of our electric grid through it’s anti-energy regulations. Coal, oil, gas, & nuclear are affordable and dependable, while wind and solar aren’t.
Environmental Wit 
Wait until you hear how they “handle” vitamins.
